J. PRESTON HARLEY, Ph.D., FACRM

Dr. J. Preston Harley is a clinical psychologist recognized for his compassionate care to persons experiencing pain.


Dr. Harley has provided clinical services since
1973 and is dedicated to treating individuals
experiencing chronic pain conditions with
behavioral interventions to promote effective
self-management of pain symptoms. He is licensed
to practice Psychology in Illinois, Wisconsin
and Massachusetts.

Dr. Harley is a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (FACRM). He is the recipient of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Distinguished Member Award, a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and he has been a director of postdoctoral neuropsychology residency and rehabilitation training programs since 1980.

Since 1990, Dr. Harley has been an active surveyor for the CARF (Commission on Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities) International for both brain injury rehabilitation and pain management programs. He also participates in the American Pain Society and the International meuropsychological Society. He has been a member of the American Psychological Association
since 1973 and has been active in the Clinical Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology
divisions. He served as the Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Spinal Cord and Head
Injuries for Illinois for 10 years
